Elevate + Microsoft Teams

Elevate for Microsoft Teams

If your people live in Microsoft Teams, give them a proper business phone system without asking them to leave it. Elevate adds calling to Teams on your company number, with the call handling a real phone system needs.

Why it matters

Why Teams alone is not always enough

1

Teams is built for collaboration first

Meetings and chat are strong, but receptionists, queues, hunt groups and call recording need more than a basic add-on.

2

Phone licensing gets complicated

Adding Microsoft’s own calling usually means an extra licence plus either a calling plan or a direct routing set-up.

3

Two systems, two directories

When the phone system and Teams do not share users, every joiner and leaver is set up twice.

What you get

What you get

Calls inside Teams

Staff make and take calls from the Teams app on desktop and mobile, with no separate phone app to learn.

Microsoft 365 sign-in

Users sign in with their Microsoft 365 credentials, and administrators can use Azure single sign-on.

Telephony-only mode

Elevate’s own chat, meetings and file sharing are switched off in this mode, so Teams stays your single collaboration tool.

Outlook and contact sync

Elevate integrates with Outlook, and business contacts can be synced from Microsoft 365.

Phone-system features included

Auto attendants, hunt groups, call recording and voicemail work as they do in the standard Elevate service.

No separate Teams Phone licence

Calling is delivered by Elevate rather than by Microsoft’s own phone licence.

Teams for collaboration, Elevate for telephony

The Elevate Teams integration is deliberately focused. It brings Elevate’s phone system into the Teams window and leaves meetings, chat and files with Microsoft. For organisations that have already standardised on Microsoft 365, that means a single interface for staff and one familiar place to find a colleague, start a chat and make a call.

Behind the scenes, calls run on Elevate’s voice platform, so you keep the reliability, number portability and phone-system tools that matter to a front desk or a service team.

How it compares with Microsoft Teams Phone

If you were planning to add Microsoft’s own Teams Phone, compare the total cost carefully: the Teams Phone licence, a calling plan or direct routing, a session border controller or carrier if you use direct routing, and the effort of supporting it. Elevate bundles unlimited UK calling and the phone-system features into a per-user service. Read our guide to Microsoft Teams phone systems for the wider options.

Rolling it out

We provision users from your Microsoft 365 tenant, port your numbers, build the call flows and test before anyone changes how they work. Staff who are not in Teams, such as warehouse or reception colleagues, can still use desk phones on the same system.

Your questions answered

Does Elevate work with Microsoft Teams?+

Yes. Elevate offers a Teams integration that puts business calling inside the Teams app, with users signing in using their Microsoft 365 credentials.

Do I need a Microsoft Teams Phone licence?+

No. Calling is provided by Elevate, so you do not need to buy Microsoft’s own Teams Phone licence for these users.

Can I still use Elevate video meetings and chat?+

In the Teams-focused mode Elevate provides telephony only, and Teams provides meetings, chat and file sharing. If you prefer Elevate’s own collaboration tools you can use the standard Elevate apps instead.

Can some staff use desk phones?+

Yes. Users who need a desk phone, such as reception, can have one on the same system while others call from Teams.

Does it work on mobile?+

Yes. Staff can make and receive business calls from the Teams mobile app, using the same business number.

Can you set it up for us?+

Yes. We handle user provisioning, number porting, call flows, testing and training, and support the service afterwards. Contact us for a quote.
