Bangor business phone systems for a bilingual city between mountains and strait

Bangor is a small city with a big mix of employers: a university, a hospital, a cathedral, council offices and a long line of independents along the High Street. Their phone needs are different, and so is the way we set each one up.

Phones for a university and public-sector city

Bangor University and Ysbyty Gwynedd shape the local economy, and the firms around them, from accommodation providers to contractors and professional practices, tend to rely on a handful of busy lines. Missed calls in term time are expensive, so we build queues, overflow to mobiles and sensible out-of-hours routing from the start.

Our proposal is written down plainly, with the number of lines, handsets and apps you are paying for set out line by line.

Offices, business parks and the Menai crossing

Many firms sit at Parc Menai on the edge of the city, in the Llandygai area or in older premises around Garth Road and Deiniol Road, and plenty of staff live on Anglesey and cross the Menai Bridge or Britannia Bridge each day. A cloud system lets them take the office number with them whichever side of the Strait they are working from.

We also set up bilingual greetings and voicemail, so a caller can be answered in Welsh or English from the same main number.

Moving off ISDN before the deadline

The national shutdown of ISDN and analogue lines completes around January 2027. If your Bangor office still has an old line for the switchboard, alarm or card machine, we list every dependency first, port your numbers and test the new system before the old one is switched off.

Rural and hillside premises sometimes have weaker broadband, so we check the connection and, where needed, pair it with a mobile backup. See also our VoIP service.

Training is short and practical. We show reception and admin staff how to record a greeting, change opening hours for bank holidays and university closures, and divert the main line when the office is empty. After go-live we stay on call, so a question in the first fortnight gets a quick answer from a person who already knows your setup rather than from a generic help page.

Questions we get asked in Bangor

Do you cover Bangor and Anglesey together?+

Yes. We can run one phone system across sites in Bangor, Menai Bridge, Llangefni and further along the coast, with the same numbers throughout.

Can we keep our old 01248 number?+

Yes. We manage the port from your current provider and time it to avoid a gap in service.

What if our broadband is poor?+

We test the line first and can add a 4G or 5G backup so calls carry on if the main connection drops.
